Location: Rakhine State, Ayeyarwady Division, and Yangon Division, Burma
Events: A tropical depression has formed in the Bay of Bengal and is moving towards Rakhine State. The most recent Joint Typhoon Warning Center update stated that “the potential for the development of a significant tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours is upgraded to high.” The storm is projected to make landfall in Rakhine State, between Sittwe and Kyauk Phyu. The Government of Myanmar has issued a “red alert” to local governments and affected communities to be aware of the risk for severe weather.

• Review your personal security plans.
• Seek secure shelter.
