The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce an award of $125,000 to World Monuments Fund (WMF) to restore the historic First Baptist Church in Mawlamyine, Mon State, through the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation. The First Baptist Church in Mawlamyine was constructed in 1827 by Adoniram Judson, an American missionary who spent nearly 40 years in Myanmar (Burma) in the early 19th century.
