U.S. Citizen Services

Effective June 15, 2020, the U.S. Embassy in Rangoon, Burma will resume routine processing of passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBAs), in addition to emergency citizenship and routine notary services. Passport and CRBA processing times will be longer than normal, so U.S. citizens with immediate travel plans should request an emergency passport at their appointment. Please read further on this webpage for information on application and appointment procedures. Please email ACSRangoon@state.gov with questions.

Welcome to American Citizen Services (ACS) for U.S. Mission Burma. We provide a range of services and information. All non-emergency consular services, including passport applications, notarizations, and reports of birth abroad, require an appointment. We will not accept walk-ins. This assists us in providing prompt and efficient consular services to American Citizens residing in and visiting Burma.
