THE EMBASSY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN RANGOON IS TRANSMITTING THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THROUGH THE AMERICAN LIAISON NETWORK AS A PUBLIC SERVICE TO U.S. CITIZENS IN BURMA. PLEASE DISSEMINATE THIS MESSAGE TO ALL U.S. CITIZENS IN YOUR ORGANIZATION OR NEIGHBORHOOD.
U.S. Citizens in Myanmar are invited to a U.S. citizen town hall with U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel on September 25th at 5:00 P.M. at American Center Yangon, corner of University Avenue and Inya Road, Yangon.
In addition to remarks and a short Q&A session by Ambassador Marciel, the Consular Section will briefly cover absentee voting with an eye towards 2020 elections and the Regional Security Office will provide an overview of the current security situation in Myanmar. Attendees will then be invited to enjoy light refreshments, network with other U.S. citizens, and explore the American Center Yangon. Informational booths will be set up to highlight services available for U.S. citizens as well as provide additional information on work the U.S. Embassy is doing in Myanmar.
Please RSVP by email to ACSRangoon@state.gov before Monday, September 23rd, 5:00 P.M. with the names of all attendees. Attendees must present a valid U.S. passport for entrance to this event. While the event is geared primarily for U.S. citizens, non-U.S. citizen spouses may accompany. We ask that you do not bring children under the age of 12.
Smart phones and tablets are allowed in to American Center Yangon, but you may not bring in laptops, cameras, metal containers, such as lunch boxes or thermoses, or other recording equipment. No storage for personal items is available. No parking is available.
