Acting DCM Anne Claire D. Andaya-Nauts

Anne Claire D. Andaya-Nauts assumed duties as Acting Deputy Chief of Mission in August 2023.  She is also the Consular Section Chief.  She joined the Foreign Service in 2010 and arrived in Myanmar at the end of April 2022.  She has served in Chennai, Guangzhou, Kabul (first-time), Manila, and Kabul.  Anne Claire was one of the last diplomats to leave Afghanistan in August 2021, after evacuating from the U.S. Embassy in Kabul and working the Noncombatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) at the Kabul airport. After the NEO, she served as the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Coordinator for Afghan Relocation Efforts (CARE), continuing to move U.S. citizens and at-risk Afghans out of Afghanistan.  Anne Claire also previously provided TDY support in Mumbai, Tel Aviv, and Accra.

Prior to Foreign Service, Anne Claire was a passport adjudicator at the Department of State’s passport agency in Seattle.  She is from Texas, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Baylor University and a Master’s Degree from St. Mary’s University (San Antonio).
